VFWMG UNIT 4-4149
ACTIVITIES REPORT - January, 2008

WELCOME HOME RIDES:  We continue to gather as a group often at the Permian Basin Vietnam Memorial and ride with flags waving to the Midland International Airport to welcome and support our returning members of the military.  It offers great opportunity for exposure to our Group as well as our VFW and the programs and assistance offered. We provide the families with helpful information concerning V.A. benefits as well as VFW Military Assistance Program.   If you have not visited the Permian Basin Vietnam Memorial in Midland, Texas we would like to invite you to visit the website at  http://www.veteransmemorial.us/  or travel to our fair city at any time and we will be happy to ride out with you for a tour.

WEEKLY RIDES:   Our group gathers weekly at the Post on Sunday afternoons for lunch.  When the weather allows we ride, otherwise we show up on four wheels.  We are a close group and seeing each other weekly keeps everyone informed of the activities of both our Group and the Post.  We continue to provide literature covering the VFW and it’s programs and flags.  Efforts to recruit membership is a part of everyday.

Operation-Uplink and VetJobs:  Each of us carry VFWMG cards that we distribute which include information regarding the aspects of this program as part of M.A.P.S.   We have opportunity on a regular basis to direct various Veterans and their families to the services offered by the VFW.   We emphasize the availability of help with phone cards and job placement.

Mid-Winter - Austin, TX:

We were proud to see such a large group representing our Statewide Motorcycle Group. It was a nice surprise to need such a big room, to hold us all, huh?

Unit 4 welcomes our new chartered groups.

We are excited by the growth of the Group.   It is proving to be a tremendous asset to our Organization and should give us all a sense of pride.    A FINE LOOKING BUNCH OF BIKERS DON'T YOU THINK?

The photographer said, "show me some attitude" when he took the picture for the VFW magazine.  We're getting noticed, for sure.

Keep riding with pride in the VFW organization.   Remember, when you are wearing the vest, what you show the people around you, is how we will all be judged.   Ride with HONOR and INTEGRITY.
