To all,
Passing this info on from the good folks north of the Red River. Please pass the invitation on to your Riders and forward any questions on to Cindy at the phone number listed at the bottom of the note.

We have a thing going on in Lawton/Ft. Sill coming up and would like to get this out to the Texas folks that live close and like to take part. Think You can help me out? The City of Lawton, Okla. has asked us to be a part of the Armed Forces Day Parade and events at the Park. The Theme for this year is "WE SUPPORT YOU". Lawton/Ft.Sill Has the largest AFDP/ Celebration in the Nation. The PGR has been asked to participate in the parade this year and have a flag line at the park where the parade will end. The PGR will be the first ones in the parade for two reasons. First, so the bikes don't over heat and second, so we can arrive at the park and have a flag line at the review booth. The AFD committee understands that if there is a mission that day it takes priority. There will also be a special parking area blocked off for the bikes. There will be many events through out the day with a fireworks show that night. I have talked with the Ramada Inn, which is across the street from the event. There is a Restaurant and Bar located in the Hotel. So if any one wants to come in on Friday Night before the Parade or stay for the events at the park and stay the Saturday night. Here are the rates that follow Single bed 1 person $56.00 + tax Single bed 2 person $60.00 + tax DBL bed 2 person $60.00 + tax DBL bed 4 person $65.00 + tax Each person that stays at the hotel will have a free Breakfast coupon. The Parade is on Saturday May 17, 2007. It starts at 10:00 AM at Central Mall. (Half mile straight shot south from Park and Hotel) I'm not sure of exact staging time approx 09:00. I'd like for us to get this posted ASAP to get an Idea of how many think they can attend and how many may want to stay at the Hotel, so Lisa at Ramada will know how many rooms to block out for this event.
If any other question, please email me back or call me 580-284-4098 Thanks, Cindy (Sisco)

RFTW – Central Route

If you are getting this email it is because you have expressed an interest in maybe doing RFTW next year.  As most of you know, I've decided on the Central Route just for a change in pace.  Some are going the Southern Route and if yes, you are still welcome to ride with us out to Calif - we are leaving on May 7th and will send you our route if you will email me.

For the Central Route, I spent most of the day today tracking down hotels and rates.  The swing in rates was just too large not to look around some more - even hotels not listed on the RFTW route list sent out recently.

Here is what I have booked for Ray's and my hotels for going from Calif to D.C.  In all cases, we are in a non-smoking double bed room and most are down stairs.  Taxes are NOT included NOR or any AARP discounts (if offered).  You have to show your card for these.

ps - our return route from D.C. will take 5 days and enjoy mostly back roads.  I will route us to Tail of the Dragon (in NW N. Carolina) if most want to go there.  There is also a Skyway there near Deal's Gap from NC into TN you should ride - it is really an awesome 54 miles.
